Here we have one in a series of approaches Gauges. Well they aren't really gauges, more utilities. The "gauge" is designed to open up your flight simulation experience by getting you to try out flying at other locations.

 

I found myself going to the same airports over and over again and with the many thousands of airports in the sim I wanted a quick way to visit ones of some significance.

 

there are over 180 approaches to capital city airports around the globe. Plus 10 custom location you can configure by editing the relevant variables listed in this reference guide. Longitude and Latitude values HAVE to be DEGREES, not Radians or any other format.

 

Select a location from the list press [S6] and off you go.

 

The distance is hard coded to 4 nautical miles and unfortunatly can't be made custom due to the fact gauges can not access airport data. Starting point were all hand placed so not too long for light aircraft and not to close for jets. I tried to strike a balance. The grid location can be edited for each, but wouldn't recommed it as they would get lost if a gauge needed update.

 

I used internet references to capital citie and airports and them look up individually in the SIM. If there are any capitol city airports missing then let me know and I'll happily add them.

 

[S1] Settings Menu:

Pressing [S1] toggles the settings menu On and Off

 

[S2] Airspeed +5:

Pressing [S2] Increases the starting approach speed + 5 Knots

 

[S3] Airspeed -5:

Pressing [S3] Decreases the starting approach speed - 5 Knots

  

[S4] Altitude +50:

Pressing [S4] Increases the starting altitude +50 feet

 

[S5] Altitude -50:

Pressing [S5] Increases the starting altitude +50 feet

 

[S6] Go to Selected Airport:

Pressing [S6] relocates your aircraft and start the selected approach.

 

[S6-LongPress] Release pause:

Long pressing [S6] releases the pause if pause on relocate is active.

 

[L Dial] Airport in List Increment/Decrement +/- 1:

Turning [L Dial] counter clockwise moves you back through the list 1 line at a time

Turning [L Dial] clockwise moves you forward through the list 1 line at a time

 

[R Dial] Airport in List Increment/Decrement +/- 5:

Turning [R Dial] counter clockwise moves you back through the list 5 lines at a time

Turning [R Dial] clockwise moves you forward through the list 5 lines at a time

     Menu Item Index (0 to 7)

     0 = Menu Closed

     1 = Version & Info

     2 = Random Heading

     3 = Pause on Start

     4 = Time Of Day

     5 = Starting Airspeed

     6 = Altitude Offset

     7 = Brightness Control

 

     Should sim start relocation paused  (Off = 0, On = 1)

 

     Should sim start relocation with random roll and HDG  (Off = 0, On = 1)
